THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE (LGAE)

The Local Government Awards for Excellence (LGAE) is designed to motivate councils to design,implement and adopt projects and innovative practices that serve community interests in a cost-effective and sustainable way. The LGAE is aimed at improving capacities of councils to deliver quality municipal services and development to  the communities that they serve. Lessons learnt from the assessment processes are shared among all local authorities with the view to improve service delivery. The Annual Conference and other platforms are used for learning and sharing the best practices among local authorities to encourage replicability and continuous innovation.
